For gate symposium we went to the gym to look at the projects that they are going to present. This year I found lots of cool and awesome poster on the table like the endangered species project and the first born, middle born, and last born child project, the endangered species project talked about how the animals are endangered and how the are going extinct. The other project talks about how the first born and middle and last are all different in different ways.
This year I did many things like help around the school or go to the field trips and going to field trips like the UCI field trip for the avid field trip. I also helped the Mendez party so it can be perfect, the events we had were fun like the school dances. We had to also work on our projects for science and my other classes like the endangered species project.
In AVID I have a C+(75%) in that class because I was not getting a good grades on the Cornell notes check, but I have been improving my Cornell notes and I have been getting greater and better grades for them. In P.E. I have a 95% because I am a good a runner and I am good at getting good grades in my extra credit report. In my science class I got a B+89% for doing good in my projects and for doing good science notes. To get my grade to a A I want to get a good grade in my last project.
Today I am writing a book review on the last book I read, I read a book called Revenge of the Living Dummy, it was a book based on a living ventriloquist's dummy that comes to life and makes other people its personal slave. The dummy name is slappy and it comes to life when you say the six ancient words. The dummy is called Mr. badboy
On last Monday we, our very intelligent AVID class started to build a hand made rocket,we had to pick a partner so I picked Brian as my rocket partner. We started with a Parachute for our rocket they had to be able to land safely so we had to make it extra careful that the parachute did not rip. The materials for the parachute were four sting a piece of plastic o weight and that is all. Once we finished the parachute, we started to build a rocket so we used rocket fins, cone, a water bottle so we had to attach the fins to the side, they put the parachute in the cone and we went to go launch them. When it was our turn to launch ours, so we put but ours did not work good so we tried our best but we lost. I learned that to build a rocket we have to stick and tape the materials carefully.
At the U.C. Irvine field trip we went to the university, we saw the dorms and how the buildings look when you walk around.
At the university they have lots of buildings and students they have bikes,scooters, and skate boards to ride around the school. The colleges mascot is the ant eaters. They got i from a guy who was in the water polo team. At the university we saw the kitchen and the laundry room too. There are lots of restaurants at UCI there is a Starbucks, Wendy, Panda express, and other food places. I also saw a kid dressed as spider man. The rooms are not that big they are small but You can still live in it. The field trip was fun and cool. The UCI had a lot of cool things. In my college project I had to do Yale University, I had to make a poster about Yale dorms. Mascot,what you need to get into the university and ,.... I had to do research on Yale and I had to make a flag of the university. I had to talk about the dorms and the court school of Yale. I also had to put the pledge of Yale and about how many students go there. The objective was to create a poster of my University,Yale. The university project was done on a black poster board with yellow and blue because that was the color of my university.
The mascot is a bulldog that is gray, at that school they have little bit of programs. In Yale you have to share with other people your dorms. In this picture it shows the court school of Yale. This week in avid we did our T.R.F. and our reflections in class,
we had to present them in a little group of students.In P.E. we had to run a thing called the poker chip, it is a run that you have to run for 30 mins. In science we had to do a lab where you have to color the skeletons of other animals. In social studies we had to do questions on a new topic of civilization. In language arts we had to read a story of a guy named king Arthur and we had to take notes on him because he was a book we had to read. In math we did khan academy,(its a program on the computer) and we had to do a practice worksheet. My name is Randall Vega, I am a seventh grade student at Mendez. This is my Mendez Avid Digital Portfolio. My first paper was my two min speech, I had to say it in front of the whole class. I had to do a TRF after that I ever did. 2015 what i'v learn this year.This year I'v done lots of things like my T.R.F. and my Martin Luther King Jr. report. We have done a cornell notes check, four paper notes check, we had a binder check. I learned about how to speak up for my self and to do proper cornell notes. I learned to be responsible for my actions and to do all my work 2015 what i did this semesterThis semester I learned about how to write better Cornell notes. In P.E. we learned about responsibility and how to be in good shape. In social studies we learned about the Ming dynasty and about Japan. For ELA I learned how to make a persuasive essay and a argumentative essay. In math we learned about how to add and subtract fractions. In science we learned about cells and body parts. This is what I learned this year. Some of my achievements are in avid I learned how to make better TRF's. what i did this last weekThis week we did of things like finish my robotic hand in science, we got our chromebooks for avid, in math we took a test and got a 100% on the test. For social studies we downloaded some apps to use in class. For language arts we finished a computer educated game. For P.E. we did curcit training. These are all the things i did most of this week. My achievement I want to get a raise on all my grades. Tutorial ReflectionFor my tutorial I did fraction busters, fraction busters are equations with fractions in them, they could be guess and check too. Fraction busters are used to turn fractions into equations, the fraction busters are used to help students with math and to help with there homework if there is fractions in it. The fraction busters are the best for helping with equations and fractions.
